The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, North Dakota has issued a Winter Storm warning for Crookston and portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota until Noon on Monday.
Very cold wind chills and heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause blowing snow to reduce visibility. Wind chills as low as 35 below zero this morning and again tonight.
Travel could be very difficult. widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
