The 28th annual Crookston Firefighters Fun Night will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the Crookston Eagles Club.
The event is held each year to raise money for the Crookston Firefighters Association. “Most of the time the money we raise goes towards new equipment and needs at the fire department,” said Crookston Firefighter and Crookston Firefighter Association Event Chairman Cole Ricard. “This year the money will be put towards a new truck because those are not cheap by any means.”
The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a social, and activities will be going on throughout the night until 1:00 a.m. “It all starts at 5:00 p.m. with the social and then at 6:00 p.m. will start serving the dinner,” said Ricard. “You get a choice this year of Prime Rib or Walleye, and the dinner will go until around 8:00 p.m. At that time will start doing the drawings for the big $8,000 and $2,100 raffle winners. Those are only for the people who purchase the raffle tickets which are separate from the dinner tickets.”
There will be a limited amount of two hundred raffle tickets sold at the cost of $100. If you’re looking to attend the event and have not purchased a meal ticket yet, you can still talk to any firefighter to get an order placed. Door prizes for the evening include grills, meat bundles, beef, guns, coolers and more. After the raffles are finished, the band October Road will be performing from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. to wrap up the night.
