HUGO’S TASTE OF THE HOLIDAYS RAISES $1,003 FOR CHS MUSIC PROGRAM

Crookston High School Choir Director Belinda Fjeld and Hugo’s Store Manager Bob O’Halloran

Hugo’s Family Marketplace of Crookston presented Choir Director Belinda Fjeld with a check for $1,003 to the music program for participating in this fall’s Taste of the Holidays event.  Hugo’s decided to hold Taste for the Holidays as a fundraiser for the music department explained store manager Bob O’Halloran.  “Our Taste of the Holidays came right before Thanksgiving and gives customers a chance to come in and taste items from each department to see what they want to use for the holidays,” said O’Halloran.  “We decided we’d do it as a fundraiser, so you could pay $5 for a plate and all $5 would go to the music department and then you went around fill up with all you want.  The school was gracious enough to have their kids sing and the customers donated $590, while Hugo’s provided matching funds of $413.”
Fjeld said the pop choir had fun and enjoyed the evening during Taste of the Holidays.  “Bob invited us to come and sing and the pop choir performed for 3:00 until 6:00 p.m.,” said Fjeld.  “The kids were singing and Blaine [Asman] was singing and it was a fun evening sharing Christmas carols and seasonal songs.”
