Crookston High School’s Ashlyn Bailey has been named the Minnesota State High School League’s Most Valuable Teammate. The nomination said:
Ashlyn takes on the challenge of facing some of the best players in the state at No. 1 singles without hesitation. She always answers, “I want to do what is best for the team.” As a co-captain, Ashlyn mentors younger players and helps organize team activities. She shows up early every day with a positive attitude and gives 100% every minute she is on the court. She also sets an academic example by maintaining a high GPA and taking several college courses.

The Minnesota State High School League and TruStone Financial sponsor a weekly Most Valuable Teammate award program for 11th and 12th grade students who exemplify the qualities of a great teammate.
