RiverView Foundation makes final preparations ahead of 21st annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 8

The RiverView Foundation is gearing up for the 21st Annual RiverView Golf Classic, to be held on Monday, June 8, at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston.

For more than two decades, the Golf Classic has played a vital role in strengthening patient care at RiverView Health. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and participants, the Foundation has raised nearly $475,000 over the past 20 years, including over $28,500 in 2025, supporting priority initiatives that directly enhance the care and services we provide to our patients and community.

“I just want to thank our sponsors, donors, and golfers, who make this event a huge success,” said Foundation Director Randy Schoenborn. “Together, we raised thousands of dollars at the RiverView Golf Classic, which provides tremendous benefits to our patients and residents in the Crookston and rural areas.”

Funds raised at the 2026 Golf Classic will support the Foundation’s current priority: replacing two EKG (electrocardiogram) machines. Resting EKGs are a critical diagnostic tool used every day in both the emergency department and inpatient units, where timely clinical decisions and coordinated transfers can be lifesaving thanks in part to dependable EKG technology.

“These EKGs are critical, especially for rural health care, because they assess heart health and help us diagnose potentially life-threatening conditions when patients come in with chest pain, shortness of breath, or other things that involve cardiac health,” explained Caitlyn Michno, Director of Rehab at RiverView Health. “So, these new pieces of equipment are going to be wonderful for our patients, our providers, and just overall help with treatment and outcomes for the people that come in for emergencies.”

Updated EKG workstations will allow clinical teams to obtain faster, clearer cardiac readings and make timely, confident treatment decisions. For patients, this means quicker diagnoses and safer care during emergencies or inpatient monitoring. For physicians and staff, modern equipment will improve workflow efficiency, reduce downtime, and support more accurate clinical decision-making.

Golfers can register starting at 10:00 a.m., with a shotgun start scheduled for 11:00 a.m. For more information about the Golf Classic, contact Randy Schoenborn at (218) 281-9249 or rschoenborn@riverviewhealth.org.
