ALCOHOL INVOLVED IN SUNDAY MORNING CRASH IN CROOKSTON

The Minnesota State Patrol reports an alcohol-involved crash at 1:16 a.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of Old Highway 75 and South Main Street in Crookston. 2001 Ford F250, driven by 21-year-old David Joseph Meine of Crookston, turned westbound onto Old Highway 75, lost control, and drove into a railroad bridge pier. According to the State Patrol, Meine was transported to the Crookston Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Crookston Fire Department reported that they were extricating the driver when the vehicle caught fire, so that was extinguished while the extrication continued. Also assisting were the Crookston Area Ambulance, the Crookston Police Department, and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. No further information is available at this time.
