Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton coasts to a win over Crookston Girls Basketball

The Crookston Pirate Girls Basketball team jumped out to an 8-5 lead to start the game, but the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels dominated the rest of the game on their way to a 73-35 victory in a Section 8AA matchup played at the Crookston High School Gymnasium.

FIRST HALF
DGF started the game by scoring the first five points before Crookston countered with eight straight points with a Grace Boll three-pointer and five points from Chloe Boll for an 8-5 lead 3:20 into the game. DGF responded with 11 straight points while taking advantage of a bunch of Pirate turnovers for a 16-8 lead. With DGF leading 18-11, they continued to force Crookston into turnover after turnover and went on a 19-2 run to build a 37-13 lead with 4:28 left in the half. DGF continued to outscore Crookston and took a 45-17 lead into halftime.

SECOND HALF
DGF continued their complete dominance in the game as they started the second half on a 9-0 run for a 54-17 lead less than two minutes into the half. The Rebels continued to build on their lead and took a 59-19 lead with 12 minutes left in the game. DGF went to the bench, and with DGF leading 61-21, Crookston’s starters took advantage of playing against the Rebel bench and went on a 9-0 run with six points from Chloe Boll and a three-pointer from Grace Boll to get within a 61-30 deficit halfway through the half. DGF scored the next six points to take a 67-30 lead with 7:15 to go, and running time started. The rest of the game flew b,y and DGF cruised to a 73-35 victory.

Crookston drops to 7-17 on the year and will host Barnesville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. DGF improves to 21-4 on the season.
