CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL FFA BRINGS HOME MORE AWARDS

The Crookston High School FFA had Region 1 Leadership Development events at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls last week and had a lot of success.

The Conduct of Chapter Meetings team finished first place to make it back-to-back Region 1 champs and are qualified for the state competition. In this event, students complete a demonstration on how to use assigned parliamentary rules in a meeting properly. They also take a written test on the merits of the permissible motions.

Addisyn Schiller took 4th in Employment Skills. In this contest, members write up a mock job description for a position they would currently be able to apply for. They submit a resume, cover letter, and job application before completing a mock interview.

Hope Alexander placed 10th in Prepared Public Speaking. Members write a speech about a topic in agriculture and present their address to judges.  The Crookston FFA also had members try out Extemporaneous Public Speaking, where members draw a topic and have 30 minutes to research and give a speech.
