The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School choir/orchestra room.
There will be two featured programs. The first program is Tom Piche of BSN Sports and the second program is by Crookston School District orchestra teacher Lori Carlson on the MSHSL music listening team.
The consent agenda includes the approval of the January 26, February 2, 10, and 13 meeting minutes, and the approval of payment of $1,998,997.07 in bills. The board will be asked to approve the resignation of paraprofessional Emma Mekkes and salary lane advancement requests. The approval of the employment of Emily Mekkes as a full-time substitute teacher and Gavin Salem Boman as a full-time custodian at the high school.
The school board will be asked to accept Minnesota State High School League grants of $5,396, a $6,000 grant from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council for a Trey Everett art project, and a $250 grant from the Andersons Inc. Charitable Contributions committee for the FFA program.
There will be reports from administration, and the main agenda includes the approval of the installation of sound insulation in six Highland School classrooms, an extended leave of absence request from Renee Tangquist, and approval of a plan for a storm makeup day if needed.
The next school board working session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, at 5:00 p.m., and the next regular board meeting will be on Monday, March 23, at 5:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School choir/orchestra room.
