The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, June 22, at 5:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra room.
The consent agenda includes the approval of the May 26 regular meeting minutes and the June 16 special meeting minutes. The board will also be asked to approve the current bills totaling $1,146,996.97 and the following personnel items –
The board will be asked to approve the resignation of Josh Hardy as head boy’s hockey coach, Cayley Kruckeberg as kindergarten teacher at Highland, and Kabie Weisert as paraprofessional at Highland.
The board will be asked to approve a status change of Administrative Assistant Lori Morgan from full-time to part-time.
The board will be asked to approve employment agreements with Ellie Nesseth as a special education teacher at Highland, Shelly Kappelhoff as paraprofessional at the high school, Bobbie Jo Hebert as a kindergarten teacher at Highland, Ben Ehlert as science teacher at the high school, Ella Engen as social studies teacher at the middle school, Lucas Barto as social studies teacher at the high school, Nicolas Campoverde as math teacher at the high school, and Emma Mekkes as a third grade teacher at Highland.
The board will be asked to accept the retirement letters of Sara Geist, the title teacher at Highland, and Karen Brekken, an early childhood teacher at Washington.
The board will be asked to accept $7,647.85 in donations, including $100 from Lannis Bergsgaard for the FFA Chapter, $1,000 from Red Lake Electric Cooperative for student scholarships, $3,000 from Harvest Church for the FCA program, $547.85 from the Pirate Boosters for weight room supplies, and $3,000 from the American Crystal Sugar Company for the Greenhouse project.
There will be reports from the administration before the main agenda.
The main agenda includes the approval of Todd Selk as the Identified Official with Authority for the district, approval of the District Wellness Policy, approval of a contract with Triumph Educational Consulting for the district’s deaf/hard of hearing services, approval of a school health services agreement with Polk County Public Health for the parochial schools, approval of an agreement with Northwest Service Cooperative for the district’s health and safety management, approval of an agreement with LeBlanc Realty to handle the sale of the Washington School property, approval of the termination of the administrative assistant position at Washington School due to the building closure, approval of the termination of the ADSIS Behavioral Interventionist Instructional Assistant position at Highland, approval of a resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of the teaching contracts of Ashley Powell, a probationary high school physical education teacher, and Taylor Walters, a probationary elementary teacher at Highland, approval of milk and bread contracts for the 2026-27 school year, approval of an annual membership with the Minnesota Rural Education Association (MREA) for 2026-27, approval of an annual membership with the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) for 2026-27, and approval of Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) applications for cooperative sponsorship with Riverside Christian School for boys soccer, girls soccer, boys tennis, and girls tennis.
The next scheduled school board meeting will be Monday, July 27, at 5:00 p.m. at the Crookston High School choir/orchestra room.
