FERTILE-BELTRAMI BOYS BASKETBALL CRUISES TO 93-33 WIN OVER BLACKDUCK

The Fertile-Beltrami Boys Basketball team dominated in every facet of the game, as they cruised to a 93-33 victory over the Blackduck Dukes at the Northern Blast Classic at the Ralph Englestad Arena.

FIRST HALF-
The two teams began the game trading three-pointers before Fertile-Beltrami went on a 15-0 run, with Caiden Swenby making three buckets to give the Falcons an 18-3 lead. Blackduck made a three-pointer before Preston Hanson had a put-back for two, and Derek Sorenson made a three to give Fertile-Beltrami a 23-6 lead 5:00 minutes into the game.
After a Blackduck lay-up from Max Bahr, The Falcons continued to dominate in every facet over the next two minutes, scoring nine of the following 11 points, with Easton Petry and Cody Opdahl getting put-backs. Blackduck’s Nick Swedberg made a lay-up before Fertile-Beltrami went on a 17-0 run, with three-pointers made by Masen Nowacki and Swenby to further the Falcons lead to 49-13.
The game became back-and-forth for the next two minutes before Fertile-Beltrami scored five points in the last minute of the half, including two Swenby lay-ups, and the teams went into the half with the Falcons ahead 60-19.

SECOND HALF –
Blackduck’s Bahr made a lay-up on the first possession of the half before Fertile-Beltrami went on a 10-0 run over the next five minutes, including two steals turned into points by Swenby, to make it 70-21. Blackduck ended that run with a Bahr three-pointer, but the Falcons responded with another 10-0 run, including two straight twos from Easton Petry.
After that run, Fertile-Beltrami pulled most of their starts, and running time began. The Falcons went on another run, a 7-0 run. Bryer Strem put a bow on the game with a three-pointer, and the Falcons won 93-33.

Fertile-Beltrami improves to 4-0 on the season and takes on Northern Freeze on Tuesday. Blackduck falls to 0-5 on the season and takes on Hill City on Tuesday.
