The Minnesota State High School League Individual Wrestling Tournament seeds and bracket have been announced. The Individual tournament will begin on Thursday, February 26. Class AAA starts at 9:00 a.m. with AA, and Class A. The final matches of session two are the girls’ round of 16.
Crookston will have two wrestlers competing in the state individual wrestling tournament, Gavyn Hlucny and Mauricio Arriaga.
Mauricio Arriaga is making his first state appearance. Mauricio won the 107-pound Section 8A title, and the sophomore is 29-3 on the year and will take on Kiptyn Meiners of Caledonia/Houston, who is 28-13 on the year.
Gavyn Hlucny is making his fourth state tournament appearance after winning the 152-pound Section 8A title, his fourth section title. Gavyn has a 26-1 record and will take on Cayden Maly, a sophomore from Westfield who is 21-21 on the year.
