HIGHWAY 2 CROOKSTON CORRIDOR STUDY TO PRESENT RECOMMENDATIONS TO CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 12

The City of Crookston, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), is conducting a corridor study to evaluate existing conditions and potential improvements that could be made along Highway 2 (Broadway and Main Street) in downtown Crookston. The presentation will be held during the scheduled City Council Meeting on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is located at Crookston City Hall, 124 N Broadway, Crookston, MN 56716

The City of Crookston, MnDOT, and SRF Consulting Group will present the recommended roadway alternative and associated improvements to Highway 2 and show how the corridor could look in the future through downtown Crookston. The study will also examine the future transportation and mobility needs of Highway 2 to create a corridor for people walking, bicycling, and driving that is safe, accessible, and convenient.

The study includes a Community Review Panel representing business owners, motorists, residents, bicycles, pedestrians, transit economic development, emergency response, planning, safety, engineering, and local government representatives. The panel has been meeting for the study since December 2021. Members have helped the City of Crookston ensure that community values are represented in developing and evaluating project alternatives while fostering conversations within the community.
