Katherine Geist Wins the Ada Cross Country Invite

Crookston Pirate Cross Country runner, Katherine Geist continues her dominance as she won the Ada-Borup/Norman County West meet in Ada.  Katherine had a time of 18:45, a little over two minutes better than the runner-up.  The win was the fourth first-place finish in the fourth race of the year.  “Katherine got to run with boys today because of weather. She got a chance to race and compete with others around her. Her time was fantastic.  That was her best time on a legitimate 5K course,” said East Grand Forks Coach Kirk Misialek. “Weather was good for runners today. No wind and a light mist. The course was flat which helps everyone’s times. We have a big showdown in Bagley next Tuesday. This meet usually tells us how we are doing in the Section.”  Crookston’s Emily Gillette finished 35th place with a time of 25:45.
The East Grand Forks Girls team won the team portion of the meet.
