Crookston High School Junior, Katherine Geist is now a perfect five-for-five after she won the Bagley Cross Country meet on Tuesday afternoon with a time of 19:36.8, edging Staples-Motley’s Kira Sweeney by eight seconds. There were 105 female runners and the Bagley meet is a good gauge of where you stand in the section as many of the Section 8A team compete in the meet. Emily Gillette finished 83rd place with a time of 25:58.8. “Times were a little sluggish but the competition was tough. The course ran tough. We need to do some hill work,” said East Grand Forks Cross Country Coach Kirk Misialek. “Emily Gillette finished her race strong as she always does. A good effort on a beautiful fall day.”
