MINNESOTA REPORTS 5,686 NEW COVID CASES AND 21 DEATHS, POLK COUNTY HAS 24 NEW CASES

The Minnesota Department of Health released the COVID-19 numbers for today and the state reported 5,686 cases with 21 deaths. 1 death was reported in northwest Minnesota, in Roseau County. Polk County reported 24 new cases with five probable, Pennington County had 8 with five probable, Marshall County had 7 with four probable, Red Lake County had 7 with one probable, Roseau County had 6 with one probable, Norman County had 4 with two probable, and Mahnomen County had 2 with two probable.

Data is for cases that were tested and returned positive. All data is preliminary and may change as cases are investigated. Many data points are collected during case interviews. Positive PCR test results are considered confirmed cases. Positive antigen test results are considered probable cases.

All probable cases get the same public health follow up and recommendations as cases confirmed by PCR tests.
