POLK COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET TUESDAY MORNING

The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Polk County Government Center.  The consent agenda includes approving auditor warrants, March 19-April 23 board minutes, payment to GHA Technologies of $1,814.40, payments to Hewlett Packard Inc for $433.54 and $731.96, payment to CDW-G for $499.44. 

The first session of department head requests will by Jacob Snyder, Planning and Zoning, and Sarah Reese, Public Health.  Snyder will present three resolutions to the board.  The first is to amend the conditional use permit for the Fosston Area Sportsman’s Club to be open five days a week, up from three and to increase capacity from 100 to 150 people.  The second is for a conditional use permit for John and Marion Beger to hook a new septic system to a new accessory structure.  The third is a conditional use permit for David and Cynthia Tyler, Oak Cove Resort, to establish a commercial retail and personal service establishment for a boat storage business.  Reese will make an out of state travel request and opioid task force community action presentation. 

The second half of the meeting will consist of awarding bids on three highway projects and two resolutions for the highway department.  The first is a resolution setting the bridge replacement priority list and the second for the retirement of James Goldsmith.  Sheriff Jim Tadman will make an out of state request and present the trade of an old boat motor with Bemidji Marine to go towards a trailer for the Polaris and Rescue Boggan.  Tadman will also present Marshall and Kittson County Sheriff Office’s request to onboard with Polk County’s Zuercher Records for managing calls and reports. 

The Board will then consider resolutions for the issuance, sale, form, and details of payment for general obligation watershed bonds totaling $3,965,000 and general obligation State Aid Highway bonds for $5,780,000.  Polk County Assessor Mark Landsverk will present Homestead & Local Option Abatement Requests.  Michelle Cote, Director of Property Records, will present the annual aggregate report, a compliance fund expenditure of $63,135.87, liquor licenses for Lake View Resort Inc, Joe DiMaggio’s Grill and Bar Inc, Snow Sled Inn Bar and Grill/Deonne Maygra, One N’ Only of Euclid Inc, Union Lake Sarah Campground, and present an abatement policy on recommendation from the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

The meeting will conclude with Polk County Administrator Chuck Whiting presenting a resolution to reappoint Richard Sanders as County Highway Engineer.
