A Fosston man faces three felony charges from alleged domestic assault early Tuesday morning. Schulyer Heath Cauchon, 22 of Fosston, was arrested on charges of 1st-degree burglary, which carries a possible sentence of 20 years in prison and up to $35,000 fine, felony domestic assault by strangulation, with a maximum sentence of three years and up to $5,000 fine, felony pattern of stalking conduct, with a maximum sentence 10 years and up to $20,000 fine, and gross misdemeanor domestic assault, with a maximum sentence of 1 year and up to $3,00 fine.
According to the complaint Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 100-block of Lincoln Avenue in Fertile Tuesday, January 29 at 3:13 a.m. on the report of a domestic assault. A deputy took a recorded statement from the victim during which she stated she had spoken with the accused earlier that night on the phone during which Cauchon stated he was on his way over. The victim believed she could talk him out of it, but he got angry and the victim turned off her phone. She attempted to barricade the door and said she was unable to lock the door as a result of previous incidents with Cauchon.
Around 2:00 a.m. the victim alleged and Cauchon entered the residence through the bedroom window which was unlocked while she was sleeping. After arguing with Cauchon she stated the attempted to leave the room and that is when Cauchon is accused of grabbing the victim and throwing her on the bed. She then alleged he climbed on top of her and held her down including placing a hand around her neck and one over her mouth. The victim also alleged that Cauchon hit her several times in the area of her mouth with an open hand and struck her in the right leg before she was able to talk him outside.
Cauchon was not present at the scene when officers arrived and later arrested in Fosston. Deputies observed red marks on the victim’s arms, minor swelling and redness in her left wrist as well as scratches on her neck.

Eddie Markeith Frazier was back in court for a hearing on Friday, February 1. During the hearing, both the Polk County Prosecutor and Frazier’s attorney agreed to seal the evidence in his trail until the trail has begun. Frazier had also filed a motion separate from his attorney to delay his trial by 30 days, which neither his lawyer nor the Polk County Prosecutor agreed with. Frazier’s who has been charged with multiple counts of 1st and 2nd-degree murder in the death of Tawnja Rene Wallace in a Crookston Apartment at 104 ½ S. Broadway on May 3, 2017, remains on track to begin his trial on March 11.
