PROCTOR BEATS CROOKSTON AT ELY TOURNAMENT

The Crookston American Legion Post 20 Baseball team lost to Proctor 6-0 in the second round of the Ely Midsummer Tournament in Ely on Saturday.

FIRST INNING
Crookston was retired in 1-2-3 fashion with a flyout, strikeout, and ground out.
Proctor started the game with two singles before a run scored on a pop out for a 1-0 lead.

SECOND INNING
The first two Crookston batters struck out before Greyson Ecker walked. The next batter struck out.
Proctor was retired in 1-2-3 fashion with a flyout, strikeout and a groundout.

THIRD INNING
Crookston’s Lucas Miller singled with one out before the next two batters were retired.
Proctor led off the bottom of the inning with a walk, hit batter and an error to load the bases. The next batter singled to score a run for a 2-0 lead through three innings.

FOURTH INNING
Crookston’s Gavyn Hlucny led off the inning with a single. After two outs, Ecker walked before the next batter struck out.
Proctor had a hit batter reach and another baserunner after an error. The next three batters were retired.

FIFTH INNING
Crookston was retired in 1-2-3 fashion. Proctor added another run with a single, an error, walk, and a single for a 3-0 lead.

SIXTH INNING
Crookston’s Tanner Giese singled with two out, but the next batter flew out.
Proctor opened the game up when the leadoff batter reached on an error, the next batter singled, and the bases were loaded after an intentional walk. A run scored on a single, and another run scored on a double play for a 5-0 Proctor lead. Another run scored on a single for a 6-0 lead.

SEVENTH INNING
Crookston tried to mount a rally when Ecker led off the inning with a double, Cody Demarais singled, but the next three batters were retired, and Proctor won the game 6-0.

Crookston drops to 10-11 on the year.
