The Crookston High School Speech Team competed in the Section 8A Speech Tournament in Fosston on Thursday, with two students advancing to the state tournament. Shayla Azure and Zac Plante competed in duo interpretation together, receiving 3rd place and advancing to state. Brandon Wandrie also advanced to finals in original oratory and received 6th place

On Saturday, February 18, Crookston hosted its first varsity speech tournament, with nine teams competing. Competing at the tournament included: Blackduck, Breckenridge, East Grand Forks, Fosston/Bagley, Red Lake County, Roseau, Thief River Falls, Warroad, and Crookston. In total, 83 students competed in 90 events, with all 13 MSHSL Speech categories represented. Crookston finished second place
