The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team finished ninth out of 10 teams at the Minnewaska Laker Invitational on Friday. Thief River Falls won the invite with 241 points, 34 points better than Little Falls. Crookston was led by Mauricio Arriaga and Gavyn Hlucny with second place finishes. TEAM SCORES –1. The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team had eight wrestlers competing in the two-day Pequot Lakes Jackhammer tournament. Crookston finished 33rd out of 38 teams with 25 points. Staples-Motley won the tournament with 265.5 points, 84 points better than runner-up Hutchinson.Crookston’s top performer and only placer was Gavyn Hlucny. He finished eighth place at 152 pounds.
