PIRATE TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT CONCORDIA INDOOR MEET

The Crookston Pirate Boys and Girls Track teams opened up the season at the Heart O’Lakes Invite at Concordia on Tuesday.  The meet wrapped up just before 11 PM.  The Crookston Pirate Girls team finished eighth out of 15 teams and the pirate Boys team finished 12th out of 15 teams.  Perham won the girls

NORTHWEST BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES AWARD WINNERS

The Northwest Basketball Conference announced the Boys and Girls All-Conference awards.  The schools in the conference are Crookston, East Grand Forks, Roseau, Thief River Falls and Warroad.  The award winners are below – Girls All-Conference Crookston – Halle Winjum, Abby Borowicz East Grand Forks – Alison Kovar, Tatem Votava Roseau – Kayla Bachleitner, Anya Severson

HALLE WINJUM AND SEVERAL AREA PLAYERS NAMED GBB ALL-STATE HONORABLE MENTION

Crookston Girls Basketball’s Halle Winjum, a junior point guard, has been named to the Minnesota High School Basketball Coaches Class AA All-State Honorable Mention team. Winjum played in all 28 games this year and averaged a team-high 20.3 points per game while recording 568 points on the season.  She also had a team-high 251 rebounds

The junior has been on the varsity team since her 7th grade year and was the Pirates leading scorer this season.
