The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, for the following counties in northwest Minnesota. Beltrami, Clay, Clearwater, Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau. A watch means conditions are right for the development of severe thunderstorms.
Polk County Emergency Management, in conjunction with the National Weather Service, will be conducting a Skywarn Storm Spotter training class. This training class is beneficial for those who simply wish to become better informed, as well as those who want to be designated storm spotters.
