On Monday evening, the Crookston Pirate Football team held its end-of-the-season banquet at the Crookston High School Commons. The Barnesville Trojans once again proved why they are ranked #1 in the state, as they cruised to a dominant 74-6 victory over the Crookston Pirates in the first round of the Section 8AA playoffs. 1st Quarter – Barnesville received the opening kickoff, and two plays into the drive, Asher O’Brien scored a 32-yard touchdown.
The Crookston Pirate Football team wrapped up the regular season taking on the Hawley Nuggets. The Pirates played well on defense and attempted a late comeback, but the Nuggets ultimately won the game by a score of 22-14. 1st Quarter – Hawley received the opening kickoff and went three and out. The Barnesville Trojans showed why they are ranked #1 in the state as they dominated the Crookston Pirate Football team by a score of 66-0. Barnesville did not have a second down play in the first half and rushed for over 300 yards in the victory as they extended their winning streak to seven. 1st
The Warroad Warriors dominated the second half, beating the Crookston Pirate Football team 37-6 to spoil homecoming in a Section 8AA match-up in Crookston. 1st Quarter – Crookston received the opening kickoff and went to the ground to start the game. Carter Coauette had a carry for two yards, and Lionel Luna carried four yards.
