The Section 8A Girls Tennis tournament seeding meeting was held in Mahnomen on Friday, and the coaches hammered out the seeds for the team and individual tournaments. There are not many surprises in the team seeds. All the seeds are below- TEAM- 1. Staples-Motley 2. Thief River Falls 3. Crookston 4. Perham 5. East Grand
The Warroad Warriors dominated the second half, beating the Crookston Pirate Football team 37-6 to spoil homecoming in a Section 8AA match-up in Crookston. 1st Quarter – Crookston received the opening kickoff and went to the ground to start the game. Carter Coauette had a carry for two yards, and Lionel Luna carried four yards.
The Crookston Pirate Girls Soccer team played their final regular season match of the season against Pelican Rapids. Both teams scored a goal in the second half and the match ended in a draw. The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Tennis team was scheduled for a big matchup today against a top-10-ranked Staples-Motley. The teams started the duel and did finish a couple of the matches, but the rest of the contest was rained out. Crookston is 13-5 on the season and will await their seeding in the Section 8AA tournament.
