Everyone is invited to attend the 2026 Crookston Meet the Candidate Forum, an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking local and state elected office before the General Election.
The forums will take place on Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kiehle Auditorium at the University of Minnesota Crookston campus
Candidates will participate in moderated question-and-answer sessions featuring questions submitted by the public, focusing on the office’s responsibilities and issues of public interest. Similar questions may be combined, and due to time limitations, not all submitted questions will be asked. The forum schedule is listed below:
Monday, September 14
– Crookston Mayor
– Crookston City Council
Tuesday, September 15
– Crookston School Board
– Minnesota House of Representatives – District 1B
– Minnesota State Senate – District 1
The forums are free, open to the public, and provide voters with an opportunity to learn more about the candidates and the issues affecting the Crookston community and northwest Minnesota ahead of the 2026 General Election.
At the conclusion of the moderated forum, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with candidates individually, ask additional questions, and continue conversations in an informal setting.
