THE U OF M RANKINGS ARE OUT, UMC DROPS WHILE DULUTH RISES

The University of Minnesota was again recognized among the top public schools in the country for undergraduate education in several categories, according to U.S. News and World Report’s latest rankings. Already positioned as one of America’s leading research universities and a global leader in many similar orders, these latest accolades reinforce the U of M’s excellence in educating students and preparing them for future careers throughout Minnesota and around the globe.

The Crookston campus dropped from #1 down to #3 (receiving a score of 62 out of 100) among the 13 Public Regional Colleges in the Midwest. Lake Superior State and Valley State are ranked 1 and 2, respectively. UMC is #32 among all Regional Colleges (Midwest), private or public.

Morris remained No. 8 in Top Public Schools – National Liberal Arts Colleges for the second consecutive year.

No campus rose in the rankings more than Duluth, which climbed 12 spots in the Regional Universities (Midwest) rankings, taking the No. 21 overall spot and No. 4 among public schools. This success comes one year after Duluth ascended eight locations in the overall rankings, meaning UMD has leapfrogged 20 institutions in the past two years to claim its current location.
