A Grand Forks teenager was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident in Grand Forks on Saturday

On Saturday, October 3, at approximately 10:06 a.m., officers with the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the 4400 block of S. Washington St. for a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

An investigation revealed that a 2025 Honda NVA110 being driven by a 15-year-old Grand Forks male had been northbound on S. Washington St. when it struck the rear of a 2022 Ford Explorer being driven by a 35-year-old woman from Grand Forks.

The Explorer had been stopped at a red light.  The driver of the motorcycle sustained significant injuries to his lower body as a result of impacting the rear of the Ford Explorer.  The motorcycle driver, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance from the scene to Altru Hospital.  The extent of the motorcycle driver’s injuries are unknown at the time of this press release.

Members of the Grand Forks UAS Team and CART responded to the scene and assisted with the crash investigation.  During this time, northbound traffic on S. Washington St. from 46th Ave. S. to 44th Ave. S. was blocked off.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to thank the Grand Forks Fire Department, Altru Ambulance Services, and Interstate Towing for their assistance on scene.
