The Crookston High School Choir and Orchestra Departments present the 21st Annual Classic Noel on Monday, December 13. The silent auction will begin at 7:00 p.m. with all proceeds going to the Crookston choir and orchestra programs. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Those who purchased tickets for the original dinner and concert on December 5, may pick up their refund from the Crookston High School Office by December 17th. Concert admission is $4 for adults/$3 for students.

Cathedral, First Presbyterian, St. Paul’s Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran, and Harvest Churches in Crookston invite everyone to “Follow the Star” a community Drive-by Live Nativity Experience on Sunday, December 19, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The journey will take 15-20 minutes so be sure to begin no later than 5:40 p.m. The experience will begin at Trinity Lutheran Church, and you’ll follow the star to the other churches. Following the experience refreshments and Christmas caroling will be held at the Harvest Church parking lot. An interactive map with scriptures and questions will be available on the Crookston Times, KROX, church websites and Facebook pages. Make sure to tune in to KROX radio to enjoy Christmas music along the journey.

RiverView Health in Crookston will offer a variety of vaccination clinics this week for COVID-19 and influenza. They will be on the following days. Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 9 am to 4:30 pm for people 12 and older. Thursday, Dec. 16, from 9 am to 3 pm for people 18 and older. And Thursday, Dec. 16, from 3 to 4:30 pm, a Pfizer Vaccination Clinic will be held for children ages 5-11 as well as an influenza vaccination clinic. A COVID vaccination and an influenza vaccination can be done at the same appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted. To make an appointment, call 281.9595. 

Crookston Boy Scout Troop 41 is offering their Holiday Fruit Basket Sale, now until Monday, December 20. A small basket is $20, Medium Basket $30, and a Large Basket is $40. To order you can call Chrysti at 218-289-1696. Baskets can be delivered in Crookston city limits, or picked up on Monday, December 20, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bygland Lutheran Church in Fisher will be holding a Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner Bazaar and Bake Sale today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The church is located 8 miles south of East Grand Forks on Highway 220. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12.

The Bells of Praise and the UMC Chamber Orchestra will present a concert tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church 510 North Broadway. All are welcome to attend.

The Crookston Early Family Childhood Education will be hosting a Special Focus Class, Monday December 13, “Daddy and Me” from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Washington School. The class is for Dads and their children ages birth to five and will allow them to spend time with their child in the gymnasium for a night filled with activities and games. The Golden Link will have a Sit, Stand, and Dance Class on Monday, December 13, at 2:00 p.m., and Ken’s Study Group at 6:30 p.m.

The Crookston American Legion Auxiliary, Nels T Wold, Unit 20 will hold their December meeting at Happy Joes on Monday, December 13 at 5 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have Burger Night, Monday, December 13, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. 1/3 pound burger and fries for $7. Toppings include cheese, ketchup, mustard, raw or fried onions and pickles. There will also be a Smear Tournament at 7:00 p.m.

Highland PTO will meet Monday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Highland School.  Contact a PTO Officer if you want to attend via Zoom.

The Crookston School District will hold their “Truth in Taxation” hearing on Monday, December 13, at 6:00 p.m. inside the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra room. The public is invited to attend.

The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers. The Ways & Means Committee meeting scheduled to take place following City Council has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items.

Our Savior’s Lutheran School in Crookston is having a Holiday Fruit Basket Fundraiser.  Buy a small basket with twelve pieces of fruit for $20, a medium with seventeen pieces of fruit and one summer sausage for $30 or a large with twenty-one pieces of fruit, one jelly and one pineapple for $40. The Crookston Eagles will have their auxiliary holiday party at Wanda’s on Wednesday, December 15, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. They will have an auxiliary meeting following the party. There will also be Dart League at 7:00 p.m.

The Golden Link will be gift wrapping Toys for Tots again this year. All members are welcome to volunteer their time by going to the Golden Link on Friday, December 17, at 1:00 p.m. to help wrap toys for children in the community. The wrapping will take place in the community room with Christmas movies available to watch while you wrap. Hot cider and Christmas cookies will also be offered while you volunteer. Santa Claus will be at Studio 110, located at 110 South Main in Crookston on Sunday, December 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Come have your picture taken with Santa and enjoy cookies, hot cocoa, apple cider and candy canes. This event is free and open to the public.

Harvest Church in Crookston will have their Christmas Program in place of their regular Sunday Worship Service on Sunday, December 19.

Crookston High School, Cathedral and the Mount St. Benedict Alumni Scrimmages will be Thursday, December 23rd at the Crookston Sports Center.  There will be only one odd versus even game this year. Game 1 with odd versus even will be 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. Game 2 will be Pirate Girls versus Pirate Girls Alumni at 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Game 3 will be Pirate Boys versus Pirate Alumni from 7:00 to 8:15 pm. The Crookston Eagles will have Jackpot Bingo with a $1000 final jackpot, meat raffles and horse races on Thursday, December 23 at 6:00. The Johnny Holm Band will play from 9:30-1:00.

The Crookston School District will have no school from December 23 through January 2 for Christmas break.

The Golden Link will be closed on Thursday, December 23, and Friday, December 24, in Observance of Christmas. They will offer Foot Care on Thursday, December 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Harvest Church in Crookston will have their Christmas Eve Service on Friday, December 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Brander Printing will be closed December 20-24 in Observance of Christmas.

The Fisher American Legion will be closed on Saturday, December 25, in observance of Christmas.

The Crookston Blue Line Club and Crookston Eagles will be hosting a Happy New Year 2022 Bash at the Crookston Eagles Club on Friday, December 31, at the Crookston Eagles Club. There will be social at 5:00 p.m., Dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the Band “Four Wheel Drive” will perform live at 9:00 p.m. There will also be a Silent Auction, Raffles, Games, and Drawings. Dinner tickets are $30 each or $50 per couple, and can be purchased at the Crookston Eagles Club or Blue Line Club Office. Tickets are limited. All proceeds will go towards Crookston Youth Hockey. The Crookston Driftbusters Snowmobile Club will be hosting a Snowmobile Safety Training field day  for students ages 12 and older on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The first step is to complete the online portion of the class by going to www.snowmobilecourse.com. The field day will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Crookston Sports Center. RiverView Health is holding virtual, monthly Type 2 Diabetes Support Group meetings the third Wednesday of every month from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. The Crookston Public Library’s Books & Brews Book Club meet the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their own food and drinks. All are welcome. 

The Golden Link is serving noon lunch Monday through Friday and Thursday evening dinner. The cost is $6. Veterans’ meals are half price on the first Monday of the month. Call 281-3072 by 10:00 the day you plan to have lunch.
