The Crookston School District will have no school now until January 2 for Christmas break.

The Golden Link will be closed today in Observance of Christmas. They will offer Foot Care from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Longtin Agency will be closed today in observance of Christmas.

Harvest Church in Crookston will have their Christmas Eve Service tonight, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Tri-Valley Transportation Programs will be closed today, Saturday, December 25, Friday, December 31, and Saturday, January 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Crookston City Hall will be closed today, in Observance of Christmas. The garbage collection for today will be collected on Monday, December 27.

The Polk County Transfer Station will be closed today in observance of Christmas.

The Crookston Eagles will be closed today, and Saturday, December 25, in observance of Christmas.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Euclid will have a Christmas Eve Mass tonight at 5:00 p.m., and again on Christmas day, Saturday, December 25, at 5:00 p.m.

The Fisher American Legion will be closed on Saturday, December 25, in observance of Christmas.

Harvest Church in Crookston will have no Sunday School or Nursery available on Sunday, December 26.

The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered by the Crookston Lions December 27-31.

The Golden Link will have a Sit, Stand, and Dance Class on Monday, December 27, at 2:00 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have Burger Night, Monday, December 27, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. 1/3 pound burger and fries for $7. Toppings include cheese, ketchup, mustard, raw or fried onions and pickles. There will also be a Smear Tournament at 7:00 p.m.

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, December 27, at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers. A special City Council meeting will take place before at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the City Administrator’s performance evaluation.

The Golden Link will have Pinochle on Tuesday, December 28, at 1:00 p.m., Recycled Cards at 1:00 p.m., and a SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30 p.m.

The Golden Link will have Men’s Cards on Wednesday, December 29, at 8:00 a.m., and Experienced Cribbage at 10:00 a.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have Dart League on Wednesday, December 29, at 7:00 p.m.

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night on Wednesday, December 29.

The Crookston Eagles will have bingo on Thursday, December 30, at 6:30 p.m. The kitchen will serve food.

The Golden Link will be closed on Thursday, December 30, and Friday, December 31, for New Years.

The Crookston Public Library will close on Friday, December 31, at 5:00 p.m., in observance of the New Year Holiday. They will also be closed all day Saturday, January 1.

The Crookston Blue Line Club and Crookston Eagles will be hosting a Happy New Year 2022 Bash at the Crookston Eagles Club on Friday, December 31, at the Crookston Eagles Club. There will be social at 5:00 p.m., Dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the Band “Four Wheel Drive” will perform live at 9:00 p.m. There will also be a Silent Auction, Raffles, Games, and Drawings. Dinner tickets are $30 each or $50 per couple, and can be purchased at the Crookston Eagles Club or Blue Line Club Office. Tickets are limited. All proceeds will go towards Crookston Youth Hockey. The Crookston Public Library will be hosting an event “Tax Talk” with H&R Block on Wednesday, January 5, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. A representative from H&R Block of Crookston will lead the workshop and go over new tax information for 2021. It is an informational workshop open to anyone.

The Fertile Public Library will have a story time for preschoolers and caregivers Friday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m.

The Crookston Driftbusters Snowmobile Club will be hosting a Snowmobile Safety Training field day  for students ages 12 and older on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The first step is to complete the online portion of the class by going to www.snowmobilecourse.com. The field day will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Crookston Sports Center. The Crookston Public Library will be hosting an event “Sip & Paint” on Wednesday, February 23, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Crookston Library. The event will be hosted by librarian Jane Berg. Adults are invited to learn how to paint their own masterpiece while enjoying wine provided by Irishman’s Shanty. Due to limited space and materials, please register for the event by calling the library at 218-281-4522 by February 18.

CONTINUING ANNOUNCEMENTS

RiverView Health is holding virtual, monthly Type 2 Diabetes Support Group meetings the third Wednesday of every month from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. The Crookston Public Library’s Books & Brews Book Club meet the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 6:30 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their own food and drinks. All are welcome. 

The Crookston Public Library’s Reading by the Red Book Club meet the fourth Tuesday of every month at the library at 6:30 p.m. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages.

The Golden Link is serving noon lunch Monday through Friday and Thursday evening dinner. The cost is $6. Veterans’ meals are half price on the first Monday of the month. Call 281-3072 by 10:00 the day you plan to have lunch.

The Cove Youth Center in Crookston is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students and parents should call ahead to check the availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149. 

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19 and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
