The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered by the Riverview Auxiliary and Employees through Friday, February 16.

Crookston Public Schools will not have school on Thursday, February 15, Friday, February 16, or Monday, February 17.

The Crookston Lion’s Club will meet today at 12:00 p.m. at the Golden Link Senior Center.

The Golden Link Senior Center will have a Sit, Stand, and Dane Class this afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles Club will have $8 Burger Baskets tonight from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Dream Boutique Shopping Events are today and February 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday, February 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 9:00 a.m. to noon, Sunday,  March 10, from 2:00 to 5:00,  and Tuesday, March 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Local girls going to prom can shop for prom dresses, shoes, and jewelry at 107 East 2nd Street in Crookston, the old Opticare building across from Crookston City Hall.

The Golden Link Senior Center will have Recycled Cards and Pinochle on Tuesday, February 13, starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by SAIL at 2:30 p.m.

Join the Crookston Public Library for STEMsational Tuesdays on Tuesday, February 13, from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. as they explore science, technology, engineering, and math activities. STEMsational Tuesdays are held the second Tuesday of every month while school is in session.

The Crookston VFW and VFW Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, February 13, at 6:00 p.m. at the Golden Link Senior Center.

The Driftbusters Snowmobile Club  Fundraiser Galentine’s  Designer Purse Bingo and Vendor Show, with special guest Blinked Permanent Jewelry, will be held Tuesday, February 13, at the Crookston Eagles Club. The vendor Show will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Bingo will start at 7:00 p.m.  Advanced tickets are $40 and $50 at the door. 15 games will be played. The Fisher American Legion will host a Legion and SAL meeting on Tuesday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m.

Crookston Public Schools will have Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, February 14 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m., and Thursday, February 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with breaks from 11:00 to noon and 4:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The Golden Link Senior Center will have Men’s Cards on Wednesday, February 14, at 8:00 a.m., followed by a board meeting beginning at 9:00 a.m. and Cribbage at 10:00 a.m.

The Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association will be hosting a Candlelight Ski and Owl Prowl at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge near Erskine on Saturday, February 17, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Visitor Center will be open throughout the event for warming up, and refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association. The February Fitness Fever event on Sunday, February 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. will be a Sledding Day at McIntosh Hill behind the Polk County Social Services and Public Health Buildings. Bring your own sleds, make snow sculptures, and enjoy hot chocolate and outdoor fun.  

Join the Crookston Public Library on Tuesday, February 20 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. for Baby Bounce, for social and early literacy activities for children 0 to 3.

Celebrate the Young Child will host Let’s Pretend at the Crookston Library on Tuesday, February 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Crookston Alliance for Literacy and Learning (CALL) Committee invites you to come dressed up as your favorite character or hero and play at their pretend post office, police station, flower shop, fire station, restaurant, doctor’s office, and vet clinic. Free books will be provided by the CALL Committee.

The Kiwanis Free Family Movie at the Grand Theatre will be on Thursday, February 22, at 6:30 p.m. The first 50 kids will get a free concession box sponsored by the Mason Lodge and Shriners.

The Crookston Gun Club will host its 43rd annual Family Fun Night and Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 24, at the Crookston Eagles Club. There will be a social at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dinner choices will include Prime Rib or Walleye. The price is $30 for adults and $25 for ages under 18. The February Fitness Fever activity will be ice skating at the Crookston Sports Center on Sunday, February 25, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This is a free event.

Heads up, Trainers! Join your “Poke-fan”  librarian for some Pokemon-themed activities, coloring pages, books, games, and cards for Pokemon Day on Tuesday, February 27, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library.

The Crookston February pool hours Monday through Friday are – lap swim  6:00 to 9:00 a.m., aqua aerobics 9:00 to 10:00, homeschool open swim 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Fridays only, and open swim 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, open swim from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. birthday party slots from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., call 218-1180 for reservations.  Closed on Sundays. Parents of children are invited to register their children for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The program provides one book every month to your child for FREE from when you enroll until they turn five. Crookston Public School manages the program, and you can register at www.ImaginationLibrary.com.

The Crookston Care and Share is now accepting donations of Women’s, Men’s, and children’s clothing, toiletries, and other everyday items. Donations may be dropped off at the Care and Share Center at 220 East Third Street or call 281-2644. The Donation Room is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Polk County Public Health and ECFE will host a Newborn Baby Talk event for parents with babies newborn to 12 weeks every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Crookston Public Library. There will be 2-12 week sessions. January 9-March 26, and April 2-June 18. A public health nurse, parent educator and lactation specialist will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support and information on your journey of parenting. A facilitated discussion will cover feeding, attachment, sleep, development, family changes, and returning to work. You can have your baby weighed too.

Every Tuesday (except for Federal Holidays), The Crookston Public Library will host New Born Baby Talk from 9:30 am. to 11:00 a.m. This is for parents with babies 0-12 weeks old. The Cove Youth Center in Crookston is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students and parents should call ahead to check the availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149.
