There will be a Fishing Derby held at Springsteel Resort at Lake of the Woods on Muskeg Bay in Warroad on Saturday, February 19, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. There will be prizes awarded for several categories including Largest Walleye, Largest Northern, Largest Perch, and a raffle will be held with a first-place prize of $10,000! Fishing Derby tickets cost $20 and can be bought in advance at the following locations in Crookston. Advanced Tire & Auto, Scott’s True Value, and B&E Meats.

The Crookston High School is having Snow Fest this week.

The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered by the RiverView Auxiliary this week.

The Golden Link will have Guitar Lessons today at 10:30 a.m., Valentines Day Bingo in the Dining Room at 1:30 p.m., and a Sit Stand & Dance Class at 2:00 p.m.

Highland PTO will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Highland School.  Please note change of meeting time due to All-District Band Concert. Contact a PTO Officer if you want to attend via Zoom. 

The Crookston City Council will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers. A Ways & Means Committee meeting will take place immediately following the conclusion of the City Council meeting.

The Crookston Eagles will have Burger Night tonight from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. 1/3 pound burger and fries for $7. Toppings include cheese, ketchup, mustard, raw or fried onions and pickles. There will also be a Smear Tournament at 7:00 p.m.

The Golden Link will have Pinochle on Tuesday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m., and a SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have an Auxiliary meeting on Tuesday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. There will also be an Aerie Meeting at 7:00 p.m.

The Golden Link will have Men’s Cards on Wednesday, February 16, at 8:00 a.m., Crafters Corner at 9:00 a.m., and Experienced Cribbage at 10:00 a.m.

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night on Wednesday, February 16.

The Crookston Public Library will have a Storytime for preschoolers and caregivers on Thursday, February 17, at 10:30 a.m. There will be stories, songs, puppets, crafts, and lots of fun.

The Golden Link will have Smear on Thursday, February 17, at 1:00 p.m., Beginner’s Cribbage at 1:00 p.m., a SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30 p.m., and a DAV Meeting at 7:00 p.m.

The Fertile Public Library will have a story time for preschoolers and caregivers Friday, February 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Fitness Fever activities for Sunday, February 20, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. will be a free Ice Skating Day at the new Ray Ecklund Complex outdoor skating rink! Ice skates in various sizes will be available for use for youth and adults Tri-Valley Transportation will be giving free rides to and from Fitness Fevers activities. The Crookston Public Library will be hosting an event “Sip & Paint” on Wednesday, February 23, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Crookston Library. The event will be hosted by librarian Jane Berg. Adults are invited to learn how to paint their own masterpiece while enjoying wine provided by Irishman’s Shanty. RiverView Health will have a J. R. Comfort Bedding Sale on Tuesday, February 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in RiverView’s Conference Rooms 1-3. Covid-19 precautions will be followed. Masks must be worn in all RiverView facilities and screening for illness will take place as you enter the facility.

The final Fitness Fever will be Sunday, February 27, will be Ice Fishing Day! This day will be for new to beginner ice fishers with equipment and volunteers available to learn everything you need to have a successful first fishing experience! The Crookston Early Childhood Family Education is going to the Movies on Monday, February 28! Doors at the Grand Theatre will open at 4:30 p.m. with a free child friendly movie running from 5:00-6:00 p.m. This activity is for children ages birth to 5 years old. Concessions will be available for purchase.

The Celebrate the Young Child Collaboration is inviting parents and their children to “Imagine If You Were the Very Hungry Caterpillar” on Tuesday, March 1, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. There will be many fun activities for parents to engage in with their children. Registration is not required, and the event is free.

The Crookston Early Childhood Family Education will be hosting a Special Focus Class “Baby and Me” on Monday, March 14, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Washington School. The class is for ages birth to 11 months old. Parents can meet other parents and enjoy time with their new babies. The class will be focused on sensory and movement activities. The Crookston Gun Club will be hosting a DNR Hunter Safety Training Class in May for ages 11 and older.
