The Crookston V.F.W. Post 1902 will have bingo  at 6:00 p.m.  tonight.

The Crookston Eagles will have bingo at 6:30 p.m. tonight and the kitchen will be open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, January 25 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Ways & Means Committee will meet immediately following City Council. The possibility of a closed session exists with both meetings. 

The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, January 26 at 8 a.m. at the Polk County Transfer Station. 

The Golden Link will have recycled cards Tuesday, January 26 at 1 p.m.

The Red Lake Falls Food Shelf will be open Wednesday, January 27 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

There will be COVID-19 testing at the Crookston Armory Wednesday, January 27 through Saturday, January 30 from 12-6 p.m. 

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night Wednesday, January 27. 

ECFE will have their weekly class Wide Open Spaces for ages birth to Kindergarten entrance on Friday, January 28 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. For more information call 218-281-5078.

Safe Kids and Altru Health will have a car seat checkup event from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, January 28 at Brost Chevrolet. They will check the car seat is used properly, if the car seat is on a recall list, and provide booster seat advice. 

The Humane Society of Polk County, Inc. will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 5 p.m., at RBJ’s Restaurant. This meeting is open to the public.

The Red Lake Electric Cooperative will hold their Annual Member meeting of District 8 at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2 at St. John Lutheran School, 15671 158th St. N.E. in Thief River Falls. Meeting will consist of electing a director candidate, presentations of various topics, door prize drawings and refreshments. For special accommodations, please contact the office in advance. RiverView Health will host a four-hour First Aid Course from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4 at the RiverView Home Care building, 721 South Minnesota Street, Crookston. RiverView Health is offering a CPR class on Thursday, February 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the RiverView Home Care building, 721 South Minnesota Street in Crookston. Cost is $50 for those needing certification and for those not needing certification the class is free. CONTINUING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Crookston High School has gone to a set weekly schedule unless disrupted by a day off. Each Monday and Thursday is a blue day, Tuesdays and Fridays are Gold Days and Wednesdays are Distance learning for all. 

ECFE Full Steam Ahead virtual class for ages birth through Kindergarten entrance is offered once a week. Each week you will be able to listen to a book, sing songs, and do an activity focused on steam.  The class is prerecorded and available for you to access at your convenience. The Crookston Friends of the Library meet the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

The Crookston Library Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:15. 

The Cove Youth Center in Crookston will be open Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. for 7th-8th graders, and from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 9th-12th graders. The facility is currently limited to 14 students at one time due to COVID-19. Students and parents should call ahead to check availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149.

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19, and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hugo’s Family Marketplace is offering shopping for seniors and people with illnesses from 6-7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays, and Sundays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
