The Crookston School District will offer two free meals a day for students and kids 18 and under continuing for any regularly scheduled school day that the school is closed.  The meals will be available from 11-1 p.m. at Highland School.  For questions, delivery – for those who are unable to pick up food, or to call ahead with allergies call 281-5600 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  There will be no food pickup Monday, April 13 due to the Easter Holiday.

SUMMIT tenant families and friends dropping off groceries and other items. PLEASE use the South Villa MAIN Door during business hours. If you need to make other arrangements, please call 218-281-3424.

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19, and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Hugo’s Family Marketplace is offering shopping for seniors and people with illnesses from 6-7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays, and Sundays during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Crookston Noon Day Lions Community Blood Drive that was to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston on Monday and Tuesday, April 13 and 14 has been canceled.  

The Crookston City Council will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.  The Ways & Means Committee will meet immediately following City Council. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be limited seating available for the meetings.  If you would prefer to participate by phone, you may call in at 281-4515 and speak during the public forum. City Hall doors will be unlocked at 6:30 p.m. The possibility of a closed session exists with both meeting. 

Applications for the RiverView Foundations’ June E. Shaver Healthcare Scholarship are due by noon on Wednesday, April 15. Applicants must be a high school graduate who has completed a minimum of one full semester at a post-secondary higher education institution, is enrolled in a second semester AND is pursuing a degree in a healthcare field.

Applications for the RiverView Foundation’s Lenertz Family Healthcare Scholarship are due by noon on Wednesday, April 15.  The 19th annual Lenertz Family Healthcare Scholarship will be awarded to two recipients from RiverView’s service area that are pursuing post-secondary education in a healthcare field.  Each recipient will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship. 

Applications for the RiverView Foundation’s Richard Maves Healthcare Scholarship are due by noon on Wednesday, April 15. Applicant must be a high school graduate who is enrolled AND is pursuing a degree in a healthcare field.

Applications for the RiverView Foundation’s Bishop Afonya Healthcare Scholarship are due by noon on Wednesday, April 15.  The recipient must either be enrolled or with an intention to enroll in a post-secondary educational program in a healthcare field. 

The Climax Parish Food Shelf will be open Thursday, April 16 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the back door of the Climax Library. 

The Crookston Eagles Auxiliary 873 Scholarship application for 2020 is available for pickup at the Crookston High School Office. Applicants must have a female relative as a member of the Auxiliary. The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
