The University of Minnesota Extension will be hosting a four-part webinar series on Goat and Sheep Management. Each webinar will take place at 6:30 p.m.  Tonight’s webinar will be on pasture management with Brenda Postels from the University of Minnesota Extension. Register here by 4:00 pm prior to the first webinar you want to attend.

Fisher Public School will honor graduates with a drive-by graduate tribute parade Friday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. Use Demers Ave to Second Street and turn left onto Park Avenue to drive by the school. After getting past the school either leave town by the river road or turn right onto 5th Street and go around the block returning to Park Avenue along 6th Street to come by the school again before exiting on 3rd Street, making a loop. Fisher Public School has tentatively scheduled the graduation ceremony for Sunday, August 2, time and location to be determined. 

The University of Minnesota will hold a virtual graduation on Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. View the ceremony here

Reed Perkins, DFL candidate for Minnesota Senate District 1, will hold on online townhall via Facebook Live Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m. on his campaign page, ‘Perkins for MN1.’ Voters may submit questions live during the townhall or email them in advance to PerkinsForMN1@gmail.com

The Crookston Park Board will meet Monday, May 18 at 4:45 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. 

The CHEDA Board will meet Tuesday, May 19 at 7:00 a.m. at Valley Tech Park. Details about joining the meeting remotely will be available closer to the meeting date. 

The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, May 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Polk County Government Center. 

The Crookston Township Board will meet Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 a.m. at Valley Technology Park. 

The Climax Parish Food shelf will be open Thursday, May 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the back door of the Climax Library. 

Crookston High School Senior photographs in cap & gown will be Friday, May 22 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.  Students will also pick up their yearbook and return school computers. 

Sacred Heart School will have their graduation at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 22 in the school parking lot and live on KROX. 

Graduation for Red Lake Falls Lafayette High School will be a curbside ceremony and parade of graduates Friday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. 

Graduation for Warren Alvarado Oslo will be at  9:00 P.M. Friday, May 22 at the Sky-Vu Drive-in.

Crookston Memorial Day Services at the Hafslo Cemetery, Gentilly Cemetery, Crookston Cemetery, Sampson Bridge, Memorial Walkway and Sand Hill Cemetery have been canceled. A Memorial Day Ceremony will be aired Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. on KROX. 

The Crookston School District will offer two free meals a day for students and kids ages 18 and under continuing for any regularly scheduled school day that the school is closed.  The meals will be available from 11-1 p.m. at Highland School. Limited delivery options are available if circumstances make you unable to pick up food. For questions, delivery – for those who are unable to pick up food, or to call ahead with allergies call 281-5600 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  

SUMMIT tenant families and friends dropping off groceries and other items. PLEASE use the South Villa MAIN Door during business hours. If you need to make other arrangements, please call 218-281-3424.

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19, and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Hugo’s Family Marketplace is offering shopping for seniors and people with illnesses from 6-7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays, and Sundays during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Care and Share New Hope Food Shelf is open every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 pm.  For more information, or to donate, call 218-277-0000.

The Crookston Times have set out newspaper vending machines outside their office at 124 S. Broadway with non-perishable unopened food items inside for kids and families in need while schools are closed. If you would like to drop off food items, feel free to bring them to their office or fill the machines. Please help keep the machines organized and let the Times know if they’re empty.

Crookston City Hall’s summer hours are in effect.  Those hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Crookston Public Schools have decided to cancel June summer school programming due to COVID-19 and the efforts we are all making to keep our students, staff, and families safe.  This means that the annual Safety Town and Summer Camp programs will not be scheduled.  On behalf of District #593, please stay safe, healthy, and happy!
