The United Way of Crookston is holding an online auction to raise money for the fight against hunger. The auction runs through November 15 and can be accessed at www.32auctions.com/unitedwayofcrookston

The Villa St. Vincent will have a cash and grocery drive for the month of November. The public is invited to participate as cash and non-perishable food items will be collected at the Villa’s front entrance. Not only does the mission of the Villa St. Vincent and Benedictine include compassionate and quality care, but also “attentions to the underserved and creating compassionate communities.” All proceeds will be donated to the Care & Share. 

Crookston residents in Wards 1, 2 & 6 will vote at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 1214 University Ave. Residents in Wards 3,4 & 5 will vote at First Presbyterian Church at 510 N Broadway. Polls will be open today, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Polk County Commissioners will meet today at 8:00 a.m. at the Polk County Government Center. 

Crookston High School picture retakes will be today at 8:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium. 

The Golden Link will have the movie “The Addams Family” today at 1 p.m. 

The UMC Agronomy Club will have a spaghetti fundraiser tonight from 5-8 p.m. at the Crookston Eagles for $8 a plate. Takeout is available. 

The Crookston Eagles will have an Aerie meeting tonight at 7 p.m. 

The Fisher American Legion will have an Auxiliary meeting tonight at 7 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have bar bingo Thursday, November 5 at 7 p.m. The kitchen will be open serving assorted baskets from 6-8 p.m. 

The Golden Link will have coffee & rolls Friday, November 6 at 8:30 a.m. and “Sit, Stand, or Dance” class at 2 p.m. 

The Crookston Eagles will have bar bingo Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m. and $500 must go in the jackpot. The kitchen will be serving assorted baskets from 6-8 p.m. 

The Golden Link is hosting a craft show November 7 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be a lunch with the craft show of BBQ, chips, pop or water, and a cookie for $5. 

The Crookston Eagles will have bar bingo Saturday, November 7 at 3:30 p.m. 

Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine will hold its annual deer hunters meatball supper Saturday, November 7 from 5-8 p.m. for a free will donation. The meal will be curbside to-go from the west alley at the Erskine Community Center. Everyone is welcome.

RiverView Health is offering a CPR class on Thursday, November 12 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the RiverView Home Care Building, 721 South Minnesota Street in Crookston. Cost is $45 for those needing certification and for those not needing certification the class is free. CONTINUING ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Golden Link has biscuits and gravy Mondays at 8 a.m. $2 for one biscuit with gravy, $3 for two biscuits with gravy, $1 for a plain biscuit. 

The Crookston Friends of the Library meet the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

The Crookston Library Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:15. 

The Cove Youth Center in Crookston will be open Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. for 7th-8th graders, and from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 9th-12th graders. The facility is currently limited to 14 students at one time due to COVID-19. Students and parents should call ahead to check availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149. 

SUMMIT tenant families and friends dropping off groceries and other items. PLEASE use the South Villa MAIN Door during business hours. If you need to make other arrangements, please call 218-281-3424.

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19, and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hugo’s Family Marketplace is offering shopping for seniors and people with illnesses from 6-7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays, and Sundays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
