CROOKSTON H.S. SENIORS WIN DARKNESS SHORTENED POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL TITLE

The Crookston High School Senior class of 2022 won the Powderpuff championship played at Les Drechsel Field behind the high school on Wednesday night.

In the first game of the day, the Sophomores scored on their first three offensive plays and held on to beat the Juniors 35-28.
In the second game, the seniors beat the freshmen 35-0.
In the championship, because of darkness, each team had four downs to go as far as they could, and the team that moved the ball the farthest would be crowned champion.  The sophomores moved the ball from the 50-yard line down to the 22 in their four downs.  The Seniors were able to beat that and were crowned champions.

The senior’s team members were – Rylee Solheim, Breanna Kressin, Ally Perreault, Amelia Overgaard, Jenna Coauette, Ellie Nesseth, Hayden Winjum, Bailey Cameron, Emma Osborn, Clara Meyer, Aleah Bienek, Madison Hoiland, Samantha Sanders, Mallorie Sundeen, Jacie Larson, and Kendall Bergquist. The coaches were Cade DeLeon, Brooks Butt, and Gunner Gunderson.
