CROOKSTON INDUSTRIAL TECH STUDENTS VISIT POLARIS, CENTRAL BOILER/ALTOZ

On Wednesday, May 1, Crookston High School students toured the Polaris Production Plant and the Polaris Plastic Injection Plant in Roseau and they also toured Central Boiler/Altoz Mowers in Greenbush.

The Polaris Production Plant tour consisted of touring the many different parts of the plant, including welding production, powder painting, minor part assembly, and finished product assembly line assembly. They got to see a snowmobile and a Sportsman ATV from start to finish. Over 1,300 people work in the Roseau facility. They run tours in the afternoon on most days for the public; if you are in the Roseau area, it is worth the time to take the tour.

Next, the students visited the Polaris Plastic Injection plant. This is a separate facility from the main production plant. They make a large majority of the plastic parts on Polaris machines. One of the production lines made the plastic roof for a Ranger, and another line made a snowmobile hood. Oliver stated, “The facility was amazing, and you would never guess the inside machines when you drive by.” https://www.polaris.com/en-us/

The 3rd and final stop of the day was the Central Boiler and Altoz mower plant in Greenbush. This facility is outside of Greenbush and on the road. They had a wonderful conference room where introductions took place. The students got to tour the facility, including the welding department, the machine bending department, the laser cutting department, and the assembly lines that make the mowers and the outdoor wood stoves. Oliver also mentioned, “As we walked through the facility, it was clean and organized, and the end products were beautiful.” https://centralboiler.com/ https://altoz.com/

Oliver thanked the Polaris production plant and the plastic injection plant. “I want to thank Polaris and Central Boiler for welcoming us to their businesses. Also, I am asking Leuthner from Pine to Prairie Co-Op for the funding to take some of these field trips outside our immediate area. Also t, my Principal, Matt Torgerson, for supporting those field trips.  I believe the students benefit from seeing the facilities around our region that make products here in Minnesota and ship those products around the world.”
