CROOKSTON LEGION BASEBALL WALKS OFF HATTON-NORTHWOOD AT CENTRAL CASS TOURNAMENT

The Crookston American Legion Post #20 Baseball defeated Hatton-Northwood by a score of 5-4 in round two of the Central Cass Tournament in Casselton.

FIRST INNING
Hatton-Northwood and Crookston were both retired in 1-2-3 fashion.

SECOND INNING
Hatton-Northwood’s Hunter Frederick reached first on an error, then stole second, before Avery Gratton singled to bring Frederick to third. Teddy Peterick bunted to advance Gratton to second and load the bases. The next batter grounded into a fielder’s choice at home before Ryan Carter singled to score a run. The next two Hatton-Northwood batters were retired.
The first Crookston batter was retired before a pitch hit both Ashton Larson and Jackson Demarias. Teagen Lubinski drew a walk to load the bases before a pitch hit Nate Kelly, scoring a run. The next Crookston batter was retired before Lucas Miller doubled to bring in two runs. The next Crookston batter was retired, ending the inning with Crookston taking the lead 3-1.

THIRD INNING
Hatton-Northwood and Crookston were both retired in 1-2-3 fashion.

FOURTH INNING
Hatton-Northwood’s Gratton drew a walk, and reached third on a throwing error. The next three batters were retired, leaving the score at 3-1.
Crookston’s first batter was retired before Lubinski singled. The next batter grounded into a fielder’s choice before Parker Kelly drew a walk. The next batter was retired, ending the inning.

FIFTH INNING
Hatton-Northwood began the inning with a lead-off double from Keegan Schroeder. The next batter was retired before Derek Carpenter singled, Carson Beaudin doubled and Frederick tripled to each score a run, giving Hatton-Northwood a 4-3 lead. The next two batters were retired.
The first Crookston batter was retired before Alex Longoria singled and reached second on a throwing error. The next two Crookston batters were retired, ending the inning.

SIXTH INNING
The first Hatton-Northwood batter was retired before Carter hit a double and Schroeder was hit by a pitch. The next batter was retired before Carpenter reached first on an error. The next batter was retired, ending the threat.
Crookston’s Demarais singled to lead off the inning. The next batter was retired before Nate Kelly doubled to score a run, tying the game at 4-4. The next two batters were retired.

SEVENTH INNING
Hatton-Northwood began the inning with a lead-off double from Frederick. The next three batters were retired, keeping the game tied at 4-4.
Crookston’s first batter was retired before Longoria drew a walk to reach first. The next batter was retired before Tanner Giese singled. Longoria stole third and Jackson Demarais singled for a walk-off win 5-4.
