CROOKSTON PIRATE VOLLEYBALL COMPETES IN WARREN TOURNAMENT

The Crookston Pirate Volleyball team went 1-2 on the day with losses to Warren-Alvarado-Oslo an d

FIRST SET
Crookston had a close first set with Warren-Alvarado-Oslo. Crookston’s serving was very solid, as Joey Nesseth would get an ace.
It was a back-and-forth battle, but the Ponies pulled away with a 25-21 set victory.

SECOND SET
The second set was another back-and-forth battle, but Warren-Alvarado-Oslo again pulled away and won the set 25-19, giving them the 2-0 victory. Crookston’s Danielle Kresl had 14 digs in the losing effort, and Joey Nesseth and Rhianna Moore led the team with five kills each.

Climax-Fisher came out strong in the first set and cruised to a 25-8 victory over Crookston. The second set was much closer, but Climax-Fisher won the second set with a 25-20 victory to win the match 2-0.

FIRST SET
Crookston found themselves in another tough battle against Mahnomen-Waubun. It was back-and-forth, and Crookston continued its strong serving as Emma LaPlante had 3 aces. Crookston pulled away in the end to win the first set by a score of 25-18.

SECOND SET
Crookston’s offense was strong as LaPlante and Mackenzie Funk would both have four kills. Kresl would continue strong defensive play with seven digs, but it was LaPlante who led the team in this match with 12. The set came down to the wire, but Crookston would prevail, winning by a score of 25-22, giving them the match win 2-0.
