CROOKSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS TWO BURGLARIES OCCURRED IN CROOKSTON SUNDAY NIGHT

At about 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, the Crookston Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at Brost Chevrolet, 1600 University Ave.  It appeared entry was gained to the building as there was some damage to a door and the soda machine, other items were not as they should have been.  It’s unknown at this time if anything is missing.  No one should have been in the building since Saturday afternoon.  This case is active and currently being investigated.

At about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 5 the Crookston Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary at 1518 South Front Street.  The owner left the home about 1:30 p.m. and arrived home to find doors and lights were not as he left them.  Missing from the home, garage and vehicles were firearms, tools and some personal documents.  The case is active and currently being investigated.

At this time it’s not believed the two incidents are related or connected.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Crookston Police Department is confirming two burglaries that occurred in Crookston Sunday at Brost Chevrolet and a residence on South Front.  The burglary at Brost Chevrolet was reported about 7:45 p.m. and the burglary on South Front was reported at about 8:15 p.m.  The residential burglary included the theft of some firearms and tools.  Nothing was apparently taken from Brost Chevrolet. 

There is no indication that the two burglaries are connected or related.  We will update this story as the Crookston Police Department releases more information.
