The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. at Highland School.
The meeting will start with a feature presentation on the Crookston High School Greenhouse presented by Industrial Tech teachers Travis Oliver and Carolyn Pavlish.
The consent agenda includes the approval of the employment of Madilynn Thomsen, Leah Marie, and Kayla Brekken as paraprofessionals at Crookston High School, Matthew Rosu as a bus driver/custodian for the district, Katie Scott as a preschool teacher at Washington School and Malissa Burnette as a paraprofessional at Washington School. The board will be asked to accept the resignation of Joel Pyles as IT Support Staff, Sam Melbye as assistant Boys Hockey Coach, and Jeff Perreault as Head Girls Golf Coach. The board will be asked to approve the Winter Activities coaches list and accept $21,721.11 in donations. The donations include $10,000 from American Crystal Sugar for $10,000, $4,596.23 from United Valley Bank for the Crookston Tennis programs, $3,600 from the Crookston Youth Soccer Association to the Pirate Boys and Girls Soccer programs. The board will also accept a donation of $1,250 from the Crookston FFA Alumni for the FFA National Convention, $500 from Scheels to the Pirate Girls Soccer program, $300 from Mike Tiedemann for Pirate Girls Tennis indoor practice. The board will also be asked to accept $200 apiece from RiverView Health, Erin LaPlante State Farm, Widseth, KROX Radio, Crookston Eye Clinic, and American Federal Bank for tennis court signs. The last of the donations are $174.88 from the Class of 1964 to Crookston High School and $100 from Don and Patty Lubinski for the Pirate Football program.
The Main agenda includes a resolution to apply to the Minnesota State High School League for membership for the 2024-25 school year and approve the post-issuance debt compliance policy.
The meeting will wrap up with reports from the Superintendent and principals. After the meeting, there will be a closed meeting will be held for the purpose of the closed meeting is to discuss the preliminary consideration of allegations or charges against individual subject to the Board’s Employee.
