FERTILE-BELTRAMI CRUISES TO A VICTORY OVER CROOKSTON VOLLEYBALL

The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons started the match on an 8-0 run and never looked back as they cruised to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-12) victory over the Crookston Pirate Volleyball team in a match played in the Crookston High School gymnasium.

FIRST SET
Fertile-Beltrami came out of the gates strong, scoring the first eight points of the match behind a couple of aces from Madison Stueness and kills from Reese Bruggeman and Grace Proulx for half the Falcon points. Crookston scored their first point of the match when Fertile-Beltrami had a bad pass. Fertile-Beltrami continued to dominate the set behind kills from Tori Erickson, Proulx, and Stueness. Fertile-Beltrami continued to pull away to win the first set 25-10.

SECOND SET
Fertile-Beltrami started the second set on an 8-1 run with behind four kills from Tori Erickson. Fertile-Beltrami recorded several aces on outstanding serving from Bruggeman and had several service points from other servers as they cruised to a 25-8 victory.

THIRD SET
Fertile-Beltrami jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the set behind two kills from Grace Proulx, an ace from Stueness, and several Crookston errors. Crookston settled down and battled back after a few Falcon errors to get within a 7-4 deficit. Fertile-Beltrami bounced back behind back-to-back kills from Tori Erickson. Fladhammer served up back-to-back aces for a 14-7 lead a few points later. The Falcons continued to pull away with a kill from Bruggeman, a Stueness ace, and finished the match with kills from Proulx and Fladhammer for a 25-13 victory.

Crookston drops to 2-8 on the year and will host Red Lake County Central on Thursday, a match you can hear on KROX and watch on the KROX Livestream. Fertile-Beltrami improves to 4-5 on the year.
