NOWRTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL OFFERS TEACHING ARTIST ROSTER PROGRAM

The Teaching Artist Roster Program (TARP) is a seven-session training designed to support artists (visual, performing, writing, media, fine art) in refining and developing skills for conducting collaborative, in-depth arts learning experiences in organizations, community settings and schools. A small cohort of artists will be selected to participate in this training, conducted by the Training Specialist and guest peer coaches contracted by Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC).

Artists who complete the program are listed on the NWMAC Teaching Artist Roster on the website. This roster will be used by area schools to select qualified artists in residencies in the years to come.  These residencies can be supported with grant funds from the office. Specially designated funding exists for schools to sponsor artists on the Teaching Roster.

The deadline to apply is September 6 to participate in this round of the training series. There are 7 training sessions. Applicants must commit to attending all 7 sessions. There is no cost to attend!  This is the equivalent of receiving a $500 grant for training.

To apply, go to the on-line system, register, and complete the Teaching Artist Roster application.  Training dates are announced in the application and scheduled starting in mid-September thru October at the office in Warren, online and in Fosston.
