SACRED HEART SWEEPS CROOKSTON VOLLEYBALL

The Crookston Pirate Volleyball team ran into the always-tough Sacred Heart Eagles and were swept 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-12) in a match that took less than an hour to complete in East Grand Forks.

FIRST SET
Sacred Heart came out strong and took a 6-1 lead behind two Reese Chwialkowski kills and Rylee Chwialkowski ace. Crookston got back on the board when Sacred Heart served out of bounds. Sacred Heart continued to dominate the set as they were led by the net play of Lydia Riskey, Alexis Lawrence, and Reese Chwialkowski, and they cruised to a 25-11 victory.

SECOND SET
Sacred Heart continued their domination at the net and stellar serving as they jumped out to a 7-1 lead behind back-to-back Reese Chwialkowski kills, a Rylee Chwialkowski ace and a Lawrence kill. Sacred Heart led 22-8 when they had back-to-back aces from Lilah Zavoral. After a Sacred served into the net, they won the set with a Finley Horken kill for a 25-9 victory to take a 2-0 lead.

THIRD SET
Sacred Heart started the set on a 6-1 run with a Lawrence kill and a Rylee Chwialkowski ace. Sacred Heart went to Ava Knudson a lot in the set, and she had four kills over a 10-point span and took a 14-5 lead. Crookston continued to struggle, and Sacred Heart continued their dominance at the net and while serving to cruise to a 25-12 victory to win the match 3-0.

Crookston drops to 1-3 on the year and will travel to Ada-Borup-West on Monday. Sacred Heart improves to 3-1 on the year and will travel to Fertile-Beltrami on Tuesday.
