SENIOR WELLNESS DAY HELD AT CROOKSTON SPORTS CENTER

The Annual Senior Wellness Day was held Tuesday at the Crookston Sports Center.  About 30 booths were set up around the gold arena ranging from health services like RiverView Health and Choice Therapy to the Golden Link Senior Center, to transportation like Tri-Valley Opportunity Council.

Parks and Recreation Director Scott Riopelle said seniors were able to get some health screenings and get answers to questions about things they are going through. “This is our annual Senior Wellness Day that we have for local and surrounding area seniors,” said Riopelle. “We have a meal for them, a number of booths some with screening going on.  There is information for the seniors so they know what to do or get maybe get some answers for something they are facing.”

Riopelle said the booths varied greatly including booths by the Crookston Police and Fire Departments to answer questions about safety, disposing of items, and installing detectors. “There is a lot of health, some transportation stuff,” said Riopelle.  “We have police and fire here to answer questions like maybe disposing of something with the police.  The fire department can answer questions about detectors or stuff they need.”
