The Crookston High School Speech team had two placers at the Minnesota State High School League State Speech competition this past weekend. Crookston seniors, Samantha Rezac finished second place in Storytelling, and Zara Baig finished fourth in Humorous Interpretation. Brandon Wandrie competed in Original Oratory, and Zachariah Plante competed in Humorous Interpretation.
On Saturday, March 18, the Crookston Speech Team competed at the Perham Jacket Classic, with several students bringing home awards. On Saturday, February 18, Crookston hosted its first varsity speech tournament, with nine teams competing. Competing at the tournament included: Blackduck, Breckenridge, East Grand Forks, Fosston/Bagley, Red Lake County, Roseau, Thief River Falls, Warroad, and Crookston.
