CROOKSTON BOYS TENNIS WINS ONE, LOSES TWO AT NW QUAD

The Crookston Pirates Boys Tennis team has by far the most events under their belt of all Crookston High School spring sports teams, and they are getting three more matches in today on a beautiful sunny day as they are at the Northwest Quad in Bemidji.  Crookston lost to Bemidji 7-0, beat East Grand Forks 4-3, and lost to Thief River Falls 6-1.

CROOKSTON VS BEMIDJI
Crookston knew the first match against Bemidji was going to be tough after they lost to the Lumberjacks 7-0 earlier in the year.  Crookston lost by the same 7-0 score, but they had several close matches.
The first tight match was at third singles, with Isaac Thomforde losing his first set 6-2.  Isaac bounced back to win the second set 6-3, and in the third, he lost a hard-fought 10-7 set.  At fourth singles, Reggie Winjum lost a hard-fought two-setter.  In the first set, he lost a close set 7-5.  Reggie played well again in the second set, but he wasn’t to get the game winners like his opponent and lost 6-4.
The first doubles match was also a hard-fought match with Nathan Kelly and Mason Owens playing a great match, but Bemidji was a little stronger with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
