CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL SNOW FEST IS NEXT WEEK

Crookston High School will host Snow Fest next week, February 22-26. Each day of the week will have a different theme and due to COVID-19 restrictions, that are some normal events, like a pep fest that won’t be held.

Student Council Advisor Linda Morgan covered the events for Monday. “Monday is going to be jersey day, so everybody can wear their favorite jersey to school,” said Morgan. “Something new we’re doing is a scavenger hunt. We’re going to do 7th-9th graders with questions about our staff or school, and the first five people from each grade who bring the right answers to me will get a gift certificate. Later, we’re going to turn that into a t-shirt or a hat or anything like that. I’m going to hand out the sheets in the morning to the teachers, so they can hand them out. Then during passing time or lunch, or maybe the teachers even give them time during the first hour, they can work on it a little bit.”

Morgan also described the events for Tuesday and Wednesday. “Tuesday is tie-dye day,” said Morgan. “And that is the scavenger hunt for the 10th-12th graders. Same rules, just totally different questions and things to do. For example, which staff member has twin daughters. Maybe not a lot of people know that, but that’s me. I have twin daughters. And then, Wednesday is no school, so you can enjoy your PJs that day.”

Student Council President Victoria Proulx explained the other events for the week. “On Thursday, it’s going to be denim day,” said Proulx. “Then, we’re going to have the Pirate medallion hunt. There are going to be two medallions for each grade hidden around the school. You can look for them during passing time and lunch, and we’ll be giving clues throughout the day if people need them. If you find your medallion, you need to bring it to Linda, and you’ll get a prize of some sort. Then, on Friday, we have Pirate Pride day, and the Snow Fest Royalty will be revealed for the freshman through seniors at the beginning of first hour. Then, throughout the week, we’re going to have a board of senior baby pictures, and people can guess who they think the baby is with the senior. They’ll put it in a bucket, and prizes can be given for that.”
