CROOKSTON LEGION BASEBALL DEFEATS ADA IN DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Crookston Legion Post #20 Baseball uses a strong pitching and defensive performance to defeat Ada Legion Post #26 Baseball in the second round of the losers bracket at the District Tournament at Tony Stukel Field in Warroad, a game you heard on KROX.

FIRST INNING
Ada was retired in 1-2-3 fashion.
Crookston’s Blake Melsa began the inning reaching on an error before the next three batters were retired.

SECOND INNING
The first Ada batter was retired before Lance Kritzberger drew a walk and Barren Odden was hit by a pitch. The next two batters were retired, ending the threat.
Crookston was retired in 1-2-3 fashion.

THIRD INNING
The first two Ada batters were retired before Brennen Fetting singled. Beau Fetting drew a walk and a pitch hit Cameron Spaeth to load the bases. The next batter was retired, ending the threat and keeping the game scoreless.

Ada and Crookston were retired in 1-2-3 fashion.

Ada was retired in 1-2-3 fashion.
The first Crookston batter was retired before Tanner Giese doubled. The next two Crookston batters were retired, ending the inning.

SIXTH INNING
Ada’s Beau Fetting hit a lead-off single before being caught stealing for the first out of the inning. The next two Ada batters were retired.
The first two Crookston batters were retired before a pitch hit George Widman and Alex Longoria drew a walk. Ashton Larson hit a single to score run and give Crookston the 1-0 lead. Jackson Demarais drew a walk before the next Crookston batter was retired.

SEVEN INNING
Ada was retired in 1-2-3 fashion, ending the game with Crookston winning 1-0.

Crookston improves to 16-9 and will take on Warroad in the losers bracket finals, a game you can hear on KROX at 4:00 PM. They also advance to the tournament in Fosston next weekend.
